I just finished watching the final season of Sailor Moon, three years after i downloaded it and... ten years after i first started watching the show. ...That's a long time. And it's strange, i'm all sad about it being over even though it's been over for as long as i've watched it. I spoiled myself for all the seasons way back in the beginning, when only the first season and a half had gotten to the US and i didn't know if i'd EVER be able to see the rest of it! Of course they never brought over the last season, so i really would have never been able to see that one if it weren't for the internet. THANK YOU INTERNET! I love you internet! (actually, come to think of it, i wouldn't have even been into Sailor Moon in the first place if it weren't for the internet. It was the first thing i found and obsessed over when i got my first computer and AOL and discovered websites. TIME FLIIIIES. p.s. my screenname was kinnopio6. after Toad from Mario. MISSPELLED. THE END.) But ANYWAY, back on track, this ended up being probably my favorite season of all of them. I didn't know if i'd really be able to enjoy Sailor Moon quite as much as i did when i was younger and dumber, but i COULD! It's so silly, the show is so incredibly repetitive and girly and just... overall pretty dumb ("MOON SPARKLE PRINCESS ACTIVATION CRYSTAL SHINE POWER KISS!!!!!!!!!"), and yet it is also fun and hilarious and entertaining and sometimes so sad! And oh man, not only is the animation in the last season 100 times consistently prettier and better than the rest of the series, the intro rivals Evangelion for catchiest intro EVER. And the main villain is the coolest villain with the best backstory out of the entire show, the new characters are great, i confusingly ship Sailor Moon with a dude who transforms into a GIRL but it is the saddest ship ever but i always used to ship the main couple i don't understand! And the end was epic in the way that only anime can be, and there was still a really good amount of surprises that i hadn't been spoiled for, and i actually really enjoyed watching it with the Japanese voices (i typically prefer dubs because i don't like having to read subtitles distracting me from watching pretty pictures! but Japanese is so neat to listen to!) and basically i still think Sailor Moon rules even after a billion years and technically becoming an "adult".
