This Christmas Eve was a very Muppets time, when not only did we watch A Muppet Family Christmas (THE MUPPETS MEET SESAME STREET MEETS FRAGGLE ROCK!!!! i had never seen it before and it was AWESOME.) but also the Muppet Christmas Carol, and on Christmas we of course listened to the Muppets singing carols with John Denver (as is traditional in our family!). So that was enjoyable! Staying up almost all night doing last-minute knitting on Christmas Eve was not so enjoyable, but i watched some of the 24 hours of A Christmas Story while i was working, so that made it better. Christmas day was nice and gloomy and rainy like last year- since we don't get snow, it's the next best thing for making it cozy! Annnnnnd i got a flippin' video iPod, which i was NOT expecting at all and am still very excited about. It's so shiny. (HOLY SHIT I HAVE AN IPOD?!??!?) Also- lots of DS games to play! Hoo-rah.

YAY CHRISTMAS! Except for the depression when it's all over. Boo. But NEW STUFF TO PLAY WITH! YAY. Except i'm leaving soon. Booo. But going to New York! YAY.

It would probably be a good idea at some point to mention to my parents- one of whom i will need to drive me to the airport!- that i am going to New York for New Years. WHY AM I SO BAD AT BRINGING UP NEWS OF SIGNIFICANT HAPPENINGS?

p.s. I'm going to New York for New Years! ...Again! I'm pretty excited about it.

I finally saw Brick tonight. I wanted to see it for-freaking-ever ago but, of course, it was never released in theatres near me, which is how it goes. Anyway, it was awesome. I just thought it was so freaking clever for what it was: hardcore noir, but within all the trappings of high school. Notes in lockers, where you sit at lunch, visits to the vice principal, the theatre department, who's-dating-who and who's-in-what-crowd; all of that just twisted and dark and overly serious to the point of black comedy. Kind of Veronica Mars season one times A BAJILLION. I loooove ALLEGORIES. And man, Joseph Gordon-Levitt was brilliant, he completely nailed the hard-boiled-detective-as-smartass-high-school-loner role. (also, he's super pretty. LOLOLOL 3rd Rock From The Sun, i had such a huge crush on him when i was like... twelve. TRUE STORY.) And of course the cinematography was gorgeous, i always get my jollies out of that.

Good times. Word to your mother.

The funny thing about our dog is that she has a wonky ear. Her right ear sticks out farther than her left in a silly fashion. I have taken to calling her Sally Wonka! Because her name is Sally. And she has a wonky ear. So it's like... WILLY Wonka. But not. CLEVER, RIGHT? (unfortunately, she is not a chocolate lab, but a black one.) Anyway, what is also funny is that Stephen Colbert has a wonky right ear as well. Thus, one might deduce that- oh yeah, i know you see where i'm going with this- MY DOG IS STEPHEN COLBERT.

So that's where i'm at right now. You know, in my life. Generally.

HEY! New layout! ...Kind of. I'm not very elaborate with these things, you know.

So i totally finished painting yesterday after pulling an all-nighter, it was quite a relief. HOORAY, now i can finally do all the things that i... did while i was procrastinating every day. Still, it's nice to not feel guilty and stressed about it.
