I've been thinking, and i'm pretty confident that the me in high school and the me since graduating college are exactly the same, with the exceptions of a) doing my own laundry, b) having a car and a credit card, c) drinking legally, and d) being a better artist. I believe i've actually regressed socially. Hey, anybody have any info on hermits and how to go about becoming one for a living? Is there a registry somewhere? Sign me up!

This weekend i: watched Edward Scissorhands and Clueless, both of which made me very nostalgic and remain completely awesome movies; went canoeing for the first time; capsized a canoe for the first time; luckily did not destroy my thousand-dollar camera as i was somehow momentarily a genius for putting it in a ziploc bag; discovered that falling headfirst and fully clothed into cold spring water is pretty traumatic; also discovered that nature in Florida can be really pretty, especially when the weather is nice; went to a jazz festival even though it is not my type of music; saw The Grudge 2, which was okay but expectedly pretty dumb and also not as terrifying as the first one although it still made it difficult for me to get to sleep, and additionally i find horror movies very depressing when everybody dies, including the good people who don't deserve it, even though that is the point; GOT A PUPPY!!
The puppy is tiny and round and soft and cute and energetic and sunshine and light and flowers and rainbows! Despite being given numerous toys, she seems to have a taste for delicious human flesh. She particularly loves to chew on fingers and toes and is the most adorable little zombie dog there ever was! She also believes dead leaves are the MOST FUN EVER and picks up several whenever she goes outside. Man, dogs are dumb. But they are the BEST.
In addition to many many bug bites from last weekend and tree branch scratches and bruises from canoeing, i now have a myriad of scratches from sharp little puppy claws and teeth. I AM MOST CERTAINLY NOT A MESS!
